General
This class is intended for the high horsepower street Turbo Regal that maintains somewhat stock sleeper look, while retaining driver comforts.
General
- Qualifying ET is 11.20 or quicker.
- Heads-up 4-tenths pro tree start and pro ladder. (1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs 14, 4 vs 13, 5 vs 12, etc....)
- All cars racing in the Turbo Street Eliminator class must be owned and driven by a current member of the GSCA.
- No peer technical inspections relating to safety equipment rules by class participants or peers, Beech Bend Raceway track safety technician personnel will make all rulings on track safety related items.
- Winner and runner-up are subject to re-weigh and re-tech immediately after final round or at any other time.
- Any entrant caught trying to deliberately break the rules will be disqualified from the TSE class.
A factory stock appearing part is a GM part originally delivered on a 1986 to 1987 Buick Regal, GNX, Grand National, T-Type or Turbo Regal from Buick Motor Division and is externally stock in appearance. No external welding, cold weld epoxy, puttying, etc. may be done on any factory stock appearing part unless specifically stated. See Engine section for cylinder block requirements.
Chassis/Exterior
- All exterior lights must be in place, and windshield wipers and all must be operational. Car must pass track safety inspection.
- Car should possess all applicable safety equipment for potential ET/speeds attained.
* No parachutes or parachute brackets are allowed on cars that cannot consistently exceed 145 mph.
Aftermarket reproduction fiberglass or carbon fiber bumpers, hood and bumper filler panels are allowed. However these parts must have a stock appearance and not be altered. - Minimum car weight w/driver must be at least 3,400 pounds. *Cars equipped with a 4.1 Stage 1 & 2 blocks or aluminum T/A block must weigh at least 3,600 pounds w/driver. Added weight must be bolted or welded in a location other passenger compartment.
- Complete stock, painted Turbo Regal/Grand National body required.
- Stock wheelbase required (108.0" measured).
Engine/firewall must be in stock location. - Stock operating glass windows and windshield required, no lexan.
- No lowering of cars, dropped spindles, aftermarket front upper & lower control arms allowed.
Factory stock suspension location- of the upper & lower rear control arms and aftermarket rear control arms are allowed, but all rear control arms must mount in the stock pivot point locations. Any type stock location shocks. - Suspension stabilizer/reinforcement bars allowed.
- Swaybars may be removed.
- No ladder bars or coil over equipped rear suspensions,
Outer frame rails notching allowed. Inner frame rails remain in the stock location.
Reinforcement at inner rear frame rail allowed. - No quarter panel modifications except rolled inner lip or trimmed lip.
Minor modifications with hammering only to stock rear wheel wells (no mini-tubs or cutting, piecing and welding of rear wheel wells allowed). - Factory stock appearing inner front wheel wells required. Trimming allowed for downpipe
clearance.
No wheelie bars. - Brake system line locks allowed.
- Brake system must be Power Master, vacuum or hydroboost operated or manual brakes.
Drive shaft safety loop required. - Driver's name and club decal on side/quarter windows allowed. Sponsor/vendor decal is acceptable on the rear window.
- No hood-mounted gauges are allowed.
Engine
- Stock, Stage 1 or 2 Buick V6 off-center or on-center cylinder blocks, aluminum T/A blocks are allowed.
- 4.1 Stage 1 and 2 blocks or aluminum T/A blocks allowed with a 200-pound weight addition.
- Iron, Stage 1, aluminum M&A, TA or Champion cylinder head castings, however no changes in the stock header bolt pattern or header bolt spacing per cylinder, the exhaust bolt pattern must follow a 1400 Felpro gasket & the intake bolt pattern must match a 1200 Felpro.
- No Stage 2 iron or aluminum heads allowed.
- Any valve covers and oil pan allowed.
- No dry sump-oiling systems or external oil pumps.
- Factory stock intake manifold or cast intake (BG Custom or Champion intake). External welding, cold weld epoxy or putting allowed on stock intakes and EGR block-off plate allowed.
- Factory coil pack bracket maybe modified and right wiper rod may be modified for clearance if using an aftermarket cast intake.
- No GM V6 4-barrel intake manifolds of any kind allowed.
- Factory stock plenum w/spacer or aftermarket cast aluminum intake plenum allowed.
- Any size single modified stock or aftermarket throttle body allowed. Single throttle plate only.
- Any type stock location exhaust headers are allowed. Welded in EGT gauge probe bungs are allowed.
- Any 3" dual or single 3" exhaust system allowed. Must muffle run over the rear axle and exit in stock location(s) (3" max size). Exhaust must run through mufflers in competition.
- Any diameter downpipe size from the turbo allowed. Downpipe must be routed down through the stock location, no flex pipe allowed.
Turbo

One (1) 3-bolt turbo allowed and in the factory stock position/orientation with the turbo shaft and turbo wheels within 1" of the factory position. Relocation may be in any direction meaning up, down, fore, aft, inward (toward the engine) or outward (away from the engine) from the stock location using the mounting holes on the front of the passenger's side cylinder head as the fixed reference point. Note: The largest allowable turbo compressor wheel is up to and including 76mm. Maximum opening size anywhere on the compressor housing inducer must be less than 77.50mm.One single compressor opening only, no internal ported shrouds.

The following turbo compressor housings must be used: Precision Turbo & Engine P/N PTE4x3, a Garrett P/N 446560-0001 or a Turbonetics P/N 20466. Note: One of the following turbine exhaust housings is allowed. A Garrett P/N's 430832-4 and 430832-5, PT&E P/N's THB376, THB380, THB576 and THB580, Turbonetics P/N's 20240-63 and 30340-82 3 bolt turbine housings that were available November 1 of the previous year. ***The factory stock appearing turbine exhaust to downpipe flange connection must be used.

The PTE TE88-TSE 3-bolt turbo exhaust housing is not allowed in the TSE class.

Any wastegate configuration acceptable, external wastegate(s) must be plumbed back into the exhaust system, no external dumps allowed.
Intercooler
- Any stock location or front mount air to air intercooler is allowed. * No part of a stock location intercooler (not the shroud) may extend down no more than 12.00" below the centerline of the crankshaft. A front mount intercooler except for the piping may not extend down below the bottom of the stock located radiator support.
- No liquid intercoolers, intercooler external spray cooling or add-on cold boxes allowed.
Engine Management & Fuel System

Stock or modified stock ECM, aftermarket fuel management system (DFI, Fel-Pro, Motec, etc.) are allowed.

MAF optional.

Factory Stock Appearing (Type I ) or (Type II) DIS cam position sensor are required.

No individual coil per spark plug ignitions allowed.
-
No distributor ignitions allowed
MAF optional. -
Any air induction system allowed, but no hood scoop.

Any fuel pump(s) configuration/location allowed.
-
Voltage increasing and fuel pump hot wiring devices are allowed.
-
Any fuel lines allowed.
-
Factory stock fuel rail or aftermarket rails supplied with an aftermarket cast intake.
NOTE: Aftermarket and stock fuel rails may be modified. -
Any type fuel pressure regulator allowed. Any fuel injectors allowed 7 maximum. The 7th injector MUST get its fuel supply from the fuel rail.

Factory stock appearing fuel tank must be on car w/o sump addition, a second fuel cell is allowed in trunk.

Gasoline fuel only, no additives, alcohol, or nitrous oxide injection allowed.
Engine Compartment
- All factory stock A/C and heating equipment required, No proof of operation required.
- Power steering operational w/belt in stock location.
- Stock alternator operational w/belt in stock location. Relocation brackets allowed as long as alternator is still on driver's side, front of engine.
- Stock water pump operational w/belt in stock location.
- All engine accessories must be driven from the same belt.
- Any engine compartment dress-up allowed.
- Battery may be in any location.
- Any stock type/location electric engine cooling fan(s) allowed.
- Any stock or replacement radiator in stock location allowed.
Transmission
- Any GM automatic transmission allowed. (200-4R, TH400, etc.)
- Any torque converter allowed.
- Any transmission oil cooler and pan allowed.
- No Transmission brake of any type allowed, if your car has one, it must be unplugged and secured. Footbrake only during competition in this class. If there is any evidence of usage an electric or manual transbrake, the car will be DQed.
- Any stock width differential housing allowed, 1" allowance.
- Any drive shaft allowed.
- Limited-slip differentials allowed, no spools or locked/welded gears rear ends allowed.
- Any gear ratio with factory stock or reinforced differential cover allowed.
Tires & Wheels
- Any matched set of four (4), 15" diameter chrome steel or aluminum wheels allowed.
- Rear drag slicks w/sidewall designation up to and including 28" x 10.5" - 15". No "W" tires allowed, "S " tires allowed. Rear DOT street tires with sidewall designation up to and including a 28.5" x 12.5" - 15" size tires are allowed. Rear tire footprint when installed on a rim and mounted on the car can not exceed a maximum of 10.6" in width at 10 psig checking pressure. Tires may not be shaved at the tread edge to meet the 10.6" maximum tread width rule. Note- Phoenix 28.5"x 10.5" -15" measure too wide measure to meet maximum tread width rule.
- Front tire footprint must be at least 3.5" wide.
Interior
- Interior Full stock appearing interior required.
- Race seats are allowed only if seats are attached to the rear crossbar of the roll bar and seats are painted and upholstered to match the factory interior.
- Any transmission shifter allowed, however stock console must be retained. No Air or Electric solenoid shifters allowed.
- Any additional aftermarket gauges allowed.
