Parking |
Lead | ||

In years past the spectators could , for a fee, park their cars and trucks in the shaded area at the bottom of the hill. There is no mention of this on the
early registration form this year. Is this not going to be an option for the Nats in 2009?

Ron, do we write in at the bottom of the registration form for the parking or pay at the gate when we pick up our tickets? Any idea? Thanks.

As of now the parking issue has not been finalized. This is due to
track logistics which are being addressed now. The parking inside the track for N/A vehicles is one of the items being looked at. Once a final policy decision has been made I will post here. Ron |

Still no answer on pit parking? In previous years when I haven't brought a car to Nats, I still purchased a pit pass and parked the truck in the trees
above the vendor/swap meet area near the campground fence. Looking for an answer?

Opps..... forgot to follow up.
As long as you don't go thru the gate next to the circle track anywhere before this is okay. However I'd stay out of this area on Friday when the car show is in progress. The best place to park is after you enter the main gate is to go straight ahead a bit & park in this tree covered area. You will see others parked there. Ron |

So no pit parking passes this year, correct? If so, that makes a ton of walking with a 2, 3 and 5 year old and no place to spread out for them to play without
the worry of them damaging someone's car or getting run over. That's what was great about parking above the vendors area near the campground fence. No
traffic, very few cars and the kids could play. I guess GS Nats just became less family friendly, very frustrating.

What I would suggest is to find the spot or area you want
& "wink wink" park there. Ron |

Thanks for the info Ron. Nothing directed at you, just a little irritated.

Back in Feb., I contacted Bennet because there was no pit pass on our registration form. I wanted to know about parking my truck/trailer in the pits because I
was not going to race this year, just show my car. Bennet emailed me back and said :" No problem. To help cut fees we removed the pit gate. No sticker
required free access to the pits. Paul
