To Whom IT may concern;
I was having my 455 rebuilt by reputible speed shop.IT came down to fine tuning the engine,when it seemed to lock up so the mechanic shut the engine off.We pushed it in,he took off the oil pan and,said the the main bearing was shot.He than took the engine down,called the head engine GURU at TA Perforamce.After telling him what happened the GURU said it was to much oil pesure.told him to look in the oil pump houseing and said that there is probley a white spring and over sized gears that caused it.and there is a white spring in there and differnt than factory gears.The GURU said that he not sure who after market parts they are but he has seen this before.Im assumeing that the parts came from postons,but not sure.........
here's my question, can too much oil pressure cause engine failure?.Second Question, other than the new oil pump IM I reponsabile for the cost of the new engine rebuild I.E. cam shaft,bearings, labor.
the room adivice is much needed THANK YOU!!!
